News Jenifer Riveiro Ilende, Miss Beauty of Equatorial Guinea 2012 Jenifer Riveiro Ilende, 20 years old, third-year law student of the National University of Equatorial Guinea (UNGE), was the winner of Miss Beauty Equatorial Guinea 2012, which will represent our country at the Miss World competition in China next August.


On Saturday, April 27, the election of Miss Beauty Equatorial Guinea 2012 held in the city of Sipopo, a competition that was funded by the First Lady of the Nation, Constancia Mangue de Obiang, in collaboration with the modeling agency Mogue.

The election of the candidate who will represent Equatorial Guinea in the Miss World 2012 contest took place in the Sipopo conference room by the famous Equatorial Guinean sports journalist of Spanish television, Desire Ndjambo.

Sixteen candidates of ages ranging from 18 to 20 years, representing the districts pf Acurenam, Aconibe, Annobon, Añisok, Bata, Baney, Ebebiyin, Evinayong, Niefang, Momgomo, Malabo, Micomeseng, Mbini, Kogo, Rio Campo and Luba participated in this beauty contest.

The jury was composed of five members, among whom were the Secretary of State for Culture, Guillermina Mekuy, the Minister of Economy, Commerce and Business Promotion, Francisca Tatchoup Belope, and Ruslan Obiang, Presidencial Adviser on Sports, recently appointed by the Presidency of the Republic.

Guillermina Mekuy, in her capacity as Chairwoman of the Panel, said that for the election of the winner they had taken into account training, education and attitude, considering that the candidate has to represent our country in the Miss World contest.

The Minister of Economy, Commerce and Business Promotion also praised the work of the participants and asked them to serve as a good example for all young women in Equatorial Guinea.

Following the words of the Minister, the panel proceeded to proclaim the three winners. Second Runner Up, Sabina Rondo, First Runner Up, Isabel and Miss Beauty Equatorial Guinea 2012, Jenifer Riveiro Ilende, representative of the district of Luba.

The Vice Minister of Promotion of Women, Maria Leonor Epam Biribe was responsible for presenting the crown to the winner.
