Sports Francisco Pascual Eyegue Obama Asue is appointed Minister of Youth and Sports for the third time The appointment ceremony was held last Wednesday at the headquarters of the Department of Youth and Sports. The ceremony was chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister in Charge of the Economic and Financial Sector, Aniceto Ebiaca Mohete, in his capacity as Honorary President of the COCAN Equatorial Guinea.


Francisco Pascual Eyegue Obama Asue arrived on Wednesday, October 26 at the headquarters of the Department of Youth and Sports to assume his new responsibilities. There, he congratulated Ruslan Obiang Nsue, former Secretary of State for Sports, for the successes in his work.

Meanwhile, Obiang Nsue recounted the achievements during his thirteen years in the Department, since he served as Director General, until he became the Secretary of State.

Years that, without a doubt, made up the golden history of Equatorial Guinean sports. Among his major events, we highlight the CEMAC Cup victory in 2006, the Women's CAN in 2008, the Women's African Nations Cup sub-championship in 2010, the participation of the same women's team in the 2011 World Cup, the semi-finalist position in the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore 2011, the holding of two world championships of kick-boxing, the classification of basketball clubs in the African Champions League and, of course, the organization of the CAN 2012, without forgetting the successes in athletics, especially the four medals of Marta Mangue.

Finally, the ceremony ended with the orientations of the Deputy Prime Minister, Aniceto Ebiaca Mohete.
