The Parliament and the Senate

The solemn opening of the two chambers was held on Friday, July 12, under the chairmanship of the Head of State, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

The official ceremony took place in the Sipopo Conference Center, attended by the President of the Nation, all the newly appointed deputies and senators, members of the Government, diplomats and representatives of international institutions, and of course, by the family and friends of the new legislators.

For the Senate chamber, which is a historical milestone -since it was opened for the first time- they were elected as the first President of the Senate, Teresa Efua Nsang; as First Vice President, Ricardo Maximo Torao; as Second Vice President, Fortunato Nzambi Machimbe, along with three board members. As for the Chamber of Deputies, its new President is Gaudencio Mohaba Mesu, while were chosen as First Vice President. Santiago Nsobeya Efuman Nchama and Francisca Tatchouop Belobe as Second Vice President.
