Marta Mangue, new ambassador of the Red Cross
The handball player Marta Mangue visited on Monday the headquarters of the Red Cross in order to receive the award that accredits her as Red Cross Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea for the next four years.
The event took place at the headquarters of the Red Cross, chaired by the President of the institution, Jesus Jose Mba Nchama, who was assisted by the Secretary General, Juan Jose Ekuna Esono, and his colleagues. The player was also accompanied by family, including her brother Santiago Mangue González.
During the ceremony, the Secretary-General of the Red Cross read the minutes of her appointment, and then, the President of the Red Cross made the appointment to the handball player.
For her part, the player thanked those present at the event for the trust placed in her, while pledging to work and support in all that she could for the Red Cross. She also offered a gift to Jesus Jose Mba Nchama as a sign of gratitude for her appointment.
