Everything is ready for the 4th Session of the Ministers of Health of ECCAS
The last 15th Conference of Heads of State and Government of the member countries of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) was held in February 2012 in N’Djamena (Republic of Chad). There they adopted a series of specific decisions to improve cooperation mechanisms concerning health within the community.
In this context, the Secretary General of ECCAS, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Chad and its Government, have organized the 4th Ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers of Health of the Member States, which will be held from January 21 to 24 in Malabo.
The purpose of this meeting is to strengthen the effectiveness of coordination and cooperation for regional integration and harmonization of public health policy strategies in Central Africa. More specifically, it is about preparing the draft protocol on the establishment of the Health Organization of Central Africa, and making the decision on the establishment of community health funds and analyzing the projects that were carried out, among other issues.
The event will be preceded by the Meeting of Expert Countries and Technical Partnership to be held on January 21 and 22.
Malabo has recently been the venue of organization for the Subregional Conference on Surgery in Central Africa, which took place in Sipopo, between December 19 and 21 of last year.
