Meeting of the FEGUIFUT and the first division teams
This past weekend the board of the FEGUIFUT and first division teams reconvened to try to unblock the start of the League, which is still pending, awaiting the agreement between the parties.
This weekend, the board of Equatorial Guinean Football Federation (FEGUIFUT) and those responsible for men's and women's first division teams have continued discussions that were initiated last year aimed at finding the best way to begin the League's 2011-2012 season, which is intended to start no later than March 22.
Discussions mainly focus on two aspects: first, determining the number of teams in first division and, secondly, claiming the economic subsidy stated in a presidential decree, which so far has not been applied in full.
According to the Ministry of Sport and the federation itself, to make these payments, the teams must have offices, bank accounts and compatible administrations since it is State money.
Before the general meeting, the executive board already met in Malabo to discuss various current topics. In this working session, a committee was formed to tour the country, to educate officials and businessmen on the need to revive the now defunct district teams. During this tour, sports management courses will be organized.
